As long as you stay away from the silvercreek/paisley area, Guelph is usually pretty safe. There isn’t a ton of major crime, although no where is 100% safe. The south part of Guelph is a very nice area with very little to worry about.
Posted: August 8, 2025Guelph seems to be a pretty quiet and calm city. There are emergency buttons everywhere and you rarely hear some news about crime. However looks like downtown is kind of usual to get robbed. As of public transport it work perfect and never had a problem

Guelph is a very safe city. However, we do have a lot of people who fell into unfortunate situations. Theft is very high around the downtown area as there are individuals who will try to open cars and steal things in them. Best to lock up your car, don't leave anything visible in them, and especially nothing important in your car.
