Guelph is a very safe city. However, we do have a lot of people who fell into unfortunate situations. Theft is very high around the downtown area as there are individuals who will try to open cars and steal things in them. Best to lock up your car, don't leave anything visible in them, and especially nothing important in your car.
Posted: June 1, 2025Very safe. I've never been concerned about walking alone anywhere. The streets are well lit and the town is pretty active given it's a university city. The transit is very easy to navigate and bus drivers are helpful.
