I’m Claire. I’m a creative who is trying to make herself less allergic to earning a conventional living. I teach weaving for work and have a habit of ending up involved in beautiful creative community projects. I love crafts and am passionate about them from a political pre industrial stance. I aim to keep heritage craft skill alive through my work. I live with about 45 soft toy monkeys who are very alive to me and you’ll see in some of the pictures. i’ve been in london with a friend of mine two years ago in september. we’ve been hosted by a madam who was a old friend of my friend’s parents. she lived in maida valley, a lovely neighborhood far about four subway stops from Trafalgar Square. the city is wonderful and full of cultural activities, we went every night to the theatre. i really suggest to go to the globen theatre to see some shakespeare’s play. the food isnt so good, but its a good city to try multiethnic food, especially in the borrow market. we felt pretty safe with the light, but there are some weird subjects, so you always have to keep your eyes open, in fact everyday at 22.00 we were at home.

Edinburgh, Solo travel
Edinburgh I think is the perfect place for a solo trip (my first!). I stayed at the High Street Hostel which was really social and cosy. We went out with groups and I always felt safe. The whole area around the Royal Mile felt very safe. Visiting the castle is so worth it. Lots of interesting things to do here. Walkable and beautiful. Go up Calton Hill for a view.
