Passionate about people, consequently about languages. I want to improve my English, and I believe the best way is to connect with people and cultures where this language is spoken. I come from a simple family from Brazil, I have lived in Lisbon for a few years. I love to receive and meet, I'm passionate about reading, culture and Jesus ❤️

i've been living the last decade in Lisboa, the beautiful and ancient city i was born in. i grew up in the countryside, in a typical small impoverished portuguese village, and my dream is to grow old in a place where i can see the ocean and where i'm less than 5 minutes from the beach. until then, i want to see the world, experience different cultures and ways to see the world. i love to know new people and thoughts :)

Was only 3 days, so I have to go back. I walked everywhere and stayed in a guest house near cais du sodre. Great location, near the river and city as well the old and very cute part Alfama. Went to Belem on the bus and was a great part too. Everywhere is easy to walk and people are friendly. Had fish and port wine at the castle s Jorge and of course pasteis de nata.

I spent 10 days in Portugal solo. It was heaven! I stayed in Alfama district aka old town in Lisbon. I heard Fado (singing, I call it powerful lullaby) in small cafés/bars every evening. It was magical. I went to Porto, Sintra, Cascais, Madeira island. Transportation is easy from and to Lisbon. I stayed in old town because it was walkable anywhere, few blocks away from train to downtown or out of town and few blocks from ferry to the islands.

I just got back from Portugal. You will only need a car for going to the Algarve—everything required driving from place to place there. But don’t drive in Lisbon or Porto! You don’t need to and it will be so stressful because of the hills and tiny streets. Also, for what it’s worth, I stayed in Albufeira and it was awful because it was mobbed with super drunk tourists. Seriously, it was like even tackier Las Vegas or Atlantic City. If I go to the Algarve again (which I would totally do because it’s incredible!), I’d stay in literally any other city. Lagos or Faro or even Portimão would be better than Albufeira. You can just book an Airbnb experience or Viator tour for Sintra unless you’re planning to stay there—they’ll drive you directly to each palace and get you to the front of the very long lines, as well as provide helpful history and info.
