Tip stay in france at the border. Annemasse is pretty close to geneva by tram and also by train. We used the tram. Restaurents and supermarkets are much cheaper. I love the botanical garden at geneva.

Genava is my Hub, as far as I'm using easyjet (whuch is the cheapest one to fly from Egypt. I used to fly to GVA since August 1999 and I stayed there for the last 7 years as a UN accredited correspondant for Al-Ahram daily news paper. I have many friends there and I used to stay in their houses before heading to my destination in Europe.
Posted: June 7, 2024Experienced: March, 2024Geneva is a wonderful city where I felt very safe. The public transportation network in Switzerland is absolutely amazing. The Christmas market is enchanting. There are plenty of stalls with traditional Swiss food as well as dishes from around the world. It's a nice place to take a walk, have a drink and eat a snack. The river and the lake are beautiful for walks, and taking a day trip is easy, both Annecy and Lausanne are great.

A place of action and a place you need to be at
Posted: June 21, 2023City with a posh reputation, but turned out to be very "boho" and have some French charms. Nice cafes and nice to sit by the lake. Maybe slightly cheaper to drink a coffee in Geneva than in Zurich. Good city for some days!
Posted: May 12, 2023Experienced: April, 2023Geneva was amazing. I was there on a group trip, the only foreign trip I ever took. We visited the United Nations, the World Health Organization, and CERN. I really enjoyed the Red Cross Museum. In Plainpalais, there was an incredible statue of Frankenstein's monster.
Posted: April 2, 2023Geneva was wonderful. To be honest, the best part was when I went to a small town named Vevey and from there I managed to get on a cable car to Mont Pèlerin, the view was fantastic (it's 1h by train from Geneva). Geneva was good, and all the museums - d'Histoire Naturelle and Musée d'Art et d'Histoire were free and large, so I really spent hours there. Lake Geneva was also amazing.
Posted: December 16, 2022To do: - Travel by mouette (public transport boats) or take a lake cruise - Walk around the Old Town - Climb the Cathedral - Swim in the lake - Running under the Jet d’Eau - Trip to Jonction Safety: I felt safe when I was there. Recommendations: Geneva is beautiful and fun, especially for a short period of time, like two days.
Posted: September 16, 2022To Do: - Visit the Museum of Art and History - Have a drink at the Place du Bourg-de-Four - Explore the old town - Walk around Carouge - Visit the opera - Admire the beautiful lake shore Safety: Geneva is very safe, women-friendly. Geneva doesn't have a lot of bad/unsafe neighbourhood, especially on the left side. The only not so well known would be around Pâquis/Charmilles and out of the city, but these places are still quite calm. Unfortunately, the amount of drug addicts walking publicly is rising, which would be my highest worry. Overall, I'd say it's more than quite safe.

Geneva is very safe as is most of Switzerland. I'm a very anxious person so I always avoid being in "dangerous" situations (like walking home alone too late) but the times life gave me no choices everything was perfectly fine. I also think safety is being smart, do knowing the places to avoid at certain hours helps with feeling safer !

Hello everyone, I'm really bad by explaining who am I on apps but I really love art, I'm working in culture as a dance teacher for kids but also as a guide in museums of arts. So I'm really into art things, I love dancing, listening music, drawing... But also I enjoy to walk, bicycle, read books, go to the cinema, eat.. I could travel a lot with my studies and I still love doing it. I really don't mind spending time by myself but I really love to connect with people, so here I'm here to meet some others people during my trips and I will be very happy also to welcome you in our shareflat in Geneva or at least to give you some good recommendations 🌻

Hi everybody! I am a Health Educator from Puerto Rico 🇵🇷, I work in the sexual health and gender-based violence prevention for children and adolescents field. I love dancing to anything, singing my heart out at karaoke, and watching movies and TV series. I enjoy learning about other countries through the eyes and stories of the people who live there. I’m always eager to learn something new and embrace new experiences. I love nature— mountains, beaches, forests, lakes, you name it! I always try to squeeze in a hike in every place I visit. And I am a big foodie 😋 My friends would say I'm open-minded, fun, empathetic, passionate, and funny. I care a lot about people and always try to help out in any way that I can. 💖 You can find in insta: @infinitayefimera
