Durango, Colorado ended up feeling like a second home by the time I left. I went with my partner and it’s his hometown. It’s such an adorable mountain town with yummy food, gorgeous nature, and a ski resort. Highly recommend for people who love mountains.

Durango is extremely safe, anyone could come here and have a safe trip. Just be sure to lock your bike & be careful adventuring in the mountains. Make sure to stay hydrated as it is pretty dry here. Enjoy!
Posted: July 1, 2025I would describe Durango as being very safe. People are warm, friendly, and helpful. There are rare times where I might not walk alone very late at night (for example along the river trail) but generally speaking I feel good walking alone even late at night.

I’m a happy little mom of 1 kiddo who keeps me very busy & a small business owner in Durango, CO. If you’re ever in the area, stop by & say hello at Pure Skin Organic Day Spa! I have sent my teen to Europe, but have not traveled outside of the US much at all! I love the idea of travel & hope to experience many places in this lifetime!
