I went solo for a week. There are a lot of good hotels and the main form of transportation is subway or taxi. Must do’s: Top of Burj Khalifa, Desert Safari, Global village, Dubai old town (you must dress accordingly), La Mer and Jumeirah beach.
We have a metro system that runs along the main road that dissects the city (Sheikh Zayed Road). The suburb where the Museum of the Future is located is predominantly a business district. We’re not a massive walking city, but are seeing improvements on this with walking tracks starting to pop up. I’d recommend accommodation in either Downtown, Marina or the Palm (although downtown is literally two stops on the metro from the museum). Taxis are ridiculously cheap also.
When I was in Dubai, I stayed in Dubai downtown, and the Burj Khalifa was very close from where I stayed. I did the top of the Burj Khalifa and saw the Dubai fountain show. For the museum of future I booked my ticket in advance. I used uber to commute and it was easy.
Dubai is incredibly safe. I went in July and it was very hot (52C!). Stayed in a hotel in the city. I went to the atlantis water park, green planet, brunch, the mall and the museum of the future. I would have liked to have gone into the desert, but didn't have time.
Dubai is super safe. I was there last year solo for a week. If you don't feel comfortable taking the subway, taxis are affordable. There's even 'lady taxis' available (Taxis driven by women, for women only). They do cost a bit more than regular taxis tho.
I’ve been there solo a couple of times. Felt safe at all times. I stayed in old Dubai near the creek & really enjoyed that area. I organised a couple of day trips when I was there to other Emirates & to the Musandam Peninsula, also hot air ballooning.
Dubai in my opinion is very safe and very clean. I really liked that. And the food was fantastic. On the other hand it is a concrete jungle. For someone like me who loves the views and nature of Greece, Mexico, Cyprus, US etc. Dubai felt like one big shiny palace with overcrowded streets, tiny beach and many many places to spend money in. Many people love it but it is not for everyone. If you like quiet nature walks go elsewhere if you like sports, water and want to feel safe definitely visit Dubai.
Dubai is safe, many activities, restaurants and nightlife. I stayed in Downtown and the Palm, my recommendation is downtown near Burj Khalifa, go to the Dubai Mall, but dress appropriately (avoid showing your knees and shoulders), if you can go to the top of Burk Khalifa, visit Old Dubai and buy gold at the Gold Souk, take a hot air balloon in the desert, go skydiving, eat and have shisha at JBR, don’t forget Dubai Garden. I rented a car and had access to go anywhere.
I booked all of my tours in Dubai on Groupon. One of my favorite tours was the Old Dubai New Dubai with the Frame. It showed us parts of Dubai that I wouldn't have seen on my own. Definitely the dessert tour and the Grand Mosque is a must see along with Burj Khalifa. Some of the best pictures I took were from inside the Nike store at the Dubai Mall. It over looks the dancing fountains. If you are looking for places to go out I would recommend Level 43 and The Vault. I explored the city during the day and went out at night. It was extremely safe.
I was there for 5 days and was plenty. You absolutely have to do a desert tour, best thing ever, do a day tour to Abu Dhabi make sure it includes the mosque and palace. Go in the Burj Khalifa, miracle garden is beautiful, do a day tour of Dubai, check out the souks, Dubai mall is worth a trip- some cool restaurants in there we went to Trove to eat cool Spot but they don’t serve alcohol. The golden Frame was cool, went to zero gravity beach club for ladies day on a Tuesday. Check out bla bla at night. Dubai is extremely safe just be aware of what your wearing and try not to wear anything skin tight or short.
