Odesa generally presents a moderate safety level for solo female travelers. The city is typically safe during the day but it is recommended to avoid less crowded areas and to be cautious at night. It’s a thriving and wonderful city full of fun and caring people. Always ready to help and keep you company. The city is known for its beaches, restaurants, markets. The safety is fine, only mugs could be a problem, but the war is a peril to your life, naturally.

if being honest, i’m very very alarming person, so i can worried about things that never happened to me. i think Odessa is safe, but.. you know that men still don’t safe for us, girls. so i still recommend being on guard and carry something with you for self-defense

It is a fairly safe city, but far from perfect. We sure have enough of creepy people, stealing is fairly common, so it's better to look after your belongings, especially on markets or crowded streets.

Right now, we have a war, so I guess it's not safe. But we have a life here as well. Restaurants, theatres, shopping malls, and cinemas are working. We have a curfew, but yet we have sometimes parties.

Depending on the neighborhood that you stay in you can feel either absolutely safe or definitely unsafe. !! I should say that nowadays there is no totally safe space in Ukraine because of russia, so if you hear air raid siren in any of districts, I strongly recommend to go to the shelter. !! The super safe districts are: 1. Park Peremohy (Victory's Park) and Shevchenko prospect area: in my opinion, one of the safest zones you can walk in. I lived here for some time, and I haven't felt any discomfort walking there even at night. Also it's just a beautiful and walkable place. 2. Center (part that is to the north and east from Tyraspol'ska square and to the south from Potyomkin stairs): in my opinion it is less safe space for traveling because of a slightly (really not much) higher risk of getting robbed, but I'm sure that it is only risk you have walking there. Enjoy the architecture and fancy cafes! Also be more careful in Shevchenko park after dark. The super unsafe districts are: 1. Pryvoz: I'm sure you have heard about this market when planning your trip, but DON'T GO THERE AT NIGHT ALONE. After getting dark, avoid this market and area around it because by that time it looks more like a Skid Row. Also be careful at noon there, because you can get robbed. 2. Dyuk (Dyukovsky) Park: One of the parks that is popular not only because of placement and beauty of it, but also a high crime rate. A lot of murders, robs and other not so pleasant things happen there, so be careful at night. 3. Moldovanka district: some years ago I would say that it's the most criminal neighborhood in Odessa, but now it becomes more quiet and safe to walk. I recommend to visit Starokonny flea market there in some weekend's morning, but also will say that you still better be not there at night. 4. Port and area around it: it was a safe place before the war, but now in case of air raid you should seek shelter as soon as possible if you're there because port is one of the war targets of russia
