Safety:Safe

Eskisehir is generally a friendly city, with welcoming locals. As a university city, it's often bustling and lively, and presents a less conservative atmosphere compared to other parts of the country which can make foreigners, especially female solo travelers, feel more comfortable. General safety precautions such as avoiding deserted areas late at night or not flashing expensive belongings should be followed like any other city worldwide. Public transportation is reliable, but as always, be cautious while using it, especially during the night. The presence of local police is quite visible around the city, providing an additional layer of security.

Transport:Easy

Eskisehir is a relatively small and well-mapped city with plenty of signposts in English, making navigation fairly straightforward. The city offers a strong public transportation network, including trams, buses, and taxis that covers major tourist spots. Finding and communicating with English-speaking locals can be a bit challenging at times, but many younger individuals do speak English. Additionally, most attractions are within walking distance in city center, paving way for self-guided exploration.

Things to do:Interesting

Eskisehir has a variety of interesting activities for a solo female traveler. The city offers a diverse array of historic sites, natural beauty, and modern attractions. The vibrant streets of Odunpazari are an open air museum of Ottoman architecture, while the Eskisehir Science Arts and Culture Park provides a tranquil setting for relaxation. Visit the unique glass art museum, or the thriving local markets. The local gastronomy is also a treat. It's a relatively safe city with a positive atmosphere, making it suitable for solo female travelers.

Food:Above average

Eskişehir in Turkey offers a culinary journey that is highly enjoyable for food enthusiasts. The cuisine is quite diverse, ranging from traditional Turkish delicacies to international fare. While kebabs and baklava are certainly worth trying, do not miss out on unique local delights such as balaban sausage and met helva. The city also has a flourishing cafe culture and provides options for vegetarians. However, there's still room for more variety, especially for those with distinct dietary restrictions.

Budget:Affordable

Eskisehir is a moderately budget-friendly location. You can find affordable accommodation and delicious food at a reasonable cost. Public transportation is also quite cheap. But expenses can increase if you decide to visit famous tourist spots and get involved in various activities. So, overall, it's quite pocket-friendly destination unless you decide to fully leverage the tourist aspects.

Is Eskisehir worth visiting?

Group travel experience

Eskisehir has an amazing center with lots of museums and historical houses. O really recommend OMM ( odunpazari modern museum). Also princess castle in Sazova park was perfect. You should try 'çibörek' as a traditional food.
