Taichung, is an impressive blend of traditional and contemporary, hosting a fine blend of ancient temples, bustling markets and modern museums. Must-visits include the Rainbow Village, decorated by a veteran with magnificent graffiti and the National Theater and Concert Hall showcasing the city's contemporary architecture. Furthermore, the city has not left its vegetarians and vegans behind, offering an impressive array of vegetarian and vegan-friendly restaurants for plant-based diets. This makes Taichung a culinary heaven for food-loving travelers, promising a taste adventure at every dining opportunity.

Budget:Moderate

Taichung is moderately budget-friendly. Accommodation, public transportation, and street food are economical and widely available. However, if you prefer to dine in restaurants or take part in higher-end touristic activities, costs can increase quickly. It's all about the choices you make on your trip.

Is Taichung worth visiting?

Solo travel experience

The city doesn’t have much to do, but the university campus was nice. People were kind and helpful even if you don’t know the local language. The night market here is one of the best in this city. The weather is definitely better than in Taipei.
