Switzerland

Arbon is a very nice place close to the Lake of Constance. It's rather cheap related to the rest of Switzerland. You can go swimming, hiking routes are close, and it'easy getting to Konstanz (Germany) and Bregenz (Austria) from there. The place is very safe and almost everyone speaks at least a little bit of English.
