Is Republic of Serbia safe for solo female travelers?

The Republic of Serbia is generally a safe country for solo female travelers. Crime rates are moderate and incidents directly affecting tourists are uncommon. It's important to follow standard safety measures such as avoiding lonely and dark places, especially during the night. Republic of Serbia, Solo travel

A country that demands complete tranquility with its rich culture and calm people. A nation that will not leave you hungry, a nation that is as good as Europe in terms of cuisine. A country to go to :)

Belgrade, Couple travel

During my stay at Belgrade I felt safe. I met really kind and interesting people. Serbs love dogs, I saw them everywhere. Public transport is free now, so we drove everywhere. I slept at Different Belgrade camping, about 15 km from the city centre. If you're vegan like me, you can easily find Asian vegan options.

I felt safe walking even at night as a woman. There were many young women who were around my age, on a walk with their friends, pets etc at night and at parks. The cuisine is usually a mix of Ottoman and Italian, not very diverse as a Turkish person. The people were usually kind! My wallet got stolen at Trg Slavija Mc Donald’s tho, I don’t recommend wearing backpacks. The city is small, walkable distance.

Belgrade, Solo travel

Belgrade is very safe for a solo female traveler. I also visited parts of the city outside the touristic city center and they felt very safe as well (Novi Beograd, Zemun). Food is very cheap and going to the restaurant is a great experience both for the food quality and the welcoming atmosphere. I would recommend if you are interested in history and architecture.

Belgrade is a great city. I've been there twice. There are activities to do. There are fun places. The street is very lively. It's safe enough. There are historical sites and museums to visit. I highly recommend it. I think spring is the best season

Central Serbia

I didn't like it at all when I was there last year. It was a terrible experience and the heat there in the summer will kill you. You can't go out for a coffee and the transport is very confusing and you can get easily lost, don't go there

it is really safe. i walked at night with my marshalls on and nothing happened. we don’t lock our door at night. in public transport you can meet drunk people sometimes (but they are just loud, they don’t do anything against you)

Belgrade, the capital of Serbia, feels like a very safe place to me. Of course, you always need to be aware of your surroundings, but I have never experienced men catcalling me on the street or anything similar. I do sometimes worry that something like that or worse, might happen, but in reality, I haven’t experienced it. That’s not to say it never happens; it’s just not as common here as it is in some other countries.

In general it's really safe. I go waking after dark alone, dressed up or not. Nothing ever happened. I would recomend avoiding protests, or keeping on the side. Lately they are more violent. Other than that keep your purse, bag closed in the public transport.

I think it is actually pretty safe city, no big crimes, there is on the other hand some of gypses who are robbing but people usually yell at them so it is rare cases. I have never been sexual assaulted and i have never seen any girl also. There is a looot of people who will protect girls from creeps

About me

Hello, my name is Dunja( Quince). I am finishing my studies on fashion design, but on the side I study languages(italian and spanish) and enjoy nature, meeting new people and sharing stories. Or maybe it's better to say, on the side I study fashion design XD. I like making diy stuff, nothing in particular, just handy work. I haven't traveled far, it's usually been Balkans different cities and places, a lot of people. And even when I'm just in Belgrade, somehow I always meet traveling people. Somehow we find eachother, and like so, I have met some wonderful human beings with great souls that I'm still in contact with. I have joined this app to conect with women who travel. I tryed other apps, but didn't feel too safe, here I hope to find the perfect mix of travel and safety.

Hi, I’m Polina! I'm a Computer Science student from Russia, living in Belgrade with my husband. ✨ I love aesthetics like goblincore, dark fantasy, castlecore, whimsical gothic, cottagecore, spacecore, and fairycore. I'm empathetic and enjoy listening. I find it hard to socialize a lot since I'm an introvert. But I'd love to meet for coffee and explore unique spots in Belgrade.
