I felt safe walking even at night as a woman. There were many young women who were around my age, on a walk with their friends, pets etc at night and at parks. The cuisine is usually a mix of Ottoman and Italian, not very diverse as a Turkish person. The people were usually kind! My wallet got stolen at Trg Slavija Mc Donald’s tho, I don’t recommend wearing backpacks. The city is small, walkable distance.

I stayed in Serbia for a week with a friend group. We took a cheap Airbnb for 10€ per night in Futog near a lake. One day we took a tour on a boat and it was amazing! Later we stayed in Belgrad and visited Novi sad. I was walking there alone for a few days to experience everything and meeting new people and I felt very safe. One day I met a group of Russians and they invited me to spend the evening with them in the city. It was fun! We took a long walk and stayed at a bar. They were so nice and payed for me for a taxi ride to my place. I also talked to a lot of Serbian people. It’s easy to communicate with them because they speak English very well. A guy gave me a tour and told me a lot about the history. I really miss this place and would recommend it for 100%
