It was a safe city. The food was very delicious and reasonably priced. I was able to take night walks without any problems. It is a small city and you can visit many places on foot. A woman can easily wander around alone.

I felt safe. I had a fun holiday, the prices for food and drinks were affordable. Taxi was cheap, I usually walked and occasionally took a taxi. It is better to stay in the center. Marks Place was very nice. I recommend for food
Posted: May 2, 2024We stayed in a airbnb which was really cozy and nice but had enormous stairs while being on the 5th floor. Belgrade is a very budget friendly city and is also quite beautiful. We were out in the night as a group of 4 girls and didn’t experience any problems except for one catcalling but we were right in the center so I don’t know about the rural areas. The nightlife there is very much alive so that’s another reason for how safe it is there are people around at 3am. As for the nightclubs most of them are packed with men but the bouncer let us know each time before we entered and I’m not vouching for serbian men’s behavior in the clubs although we didn’t have any problems ourselves.
Posted: February 17, 2024I felt very safe. I applied the same precautions I would use traveling alone anywhere else. I call it the ugliest beautiful city full of history.
Posted: May 19, 2023I liked the Church of St. Sava, the White Palace, the fortress in Belgrade (the sunset was nice) and I went for a drink one evening after a tour of street art in Savamala. I mainly ate around Skadarlija and felt safe the whole time.
Posted: May 10, 2023Belgrade is amazing. It might be a bit difficult to find your way around, as a lot of it is written in Cyrillic alphabet, but people are very helpful and friendly. I felt really safe, and even much safer than in some really crowded tourist attractions in other cities. I participated in the Free Walk Around Belgrade - 20th-century Tour, it was very nice, showed many attractions and told the story of Serbia from what has happened in recent years. As for food, I really liked the Manufaktura restaurant.

Usually you wont have any issues traveling to Belgrade, our people are kind to foreigners. Just be aware of potential taxi scammers and people who check bus tickets, I’ve seen them trying to scam foreigners as well. There is some amout of robbers going around, usually gypsies and migrants (not trying to be racist) so just be aware of that 🤍
Posted: July 15, 2024Belgrade is pretty safe in comparison with some other countries. However, there is a still a bit of concern because is not perfectly safe. Some small robberies in public transport are happening. People often experience their wallet being stolen or their phones. Also occasionally it can happen that you find drunk people on the street harassing you. But chances of something more serious to happen to you are slim.

Belgrade was a very beautiful place. We stayed in the house of Boris Triunovic, whom we met on couchsurfing in Belgrade. He hosted us in a very loving way. He gave us information about Belgrade and its historical places. You can easily visit all local places in Belgrade on foot and by bus.
Posted: February 15, 2024Experienced: January, 2024Belgrade is a wonderful city, full of life. I highly recommend trying out the Balkan cuisine. The places that impressed me the most and are worth visiting, were the restaurants in Skadarlija street and the "House of Flowers", which is Tito's mausoleum. I also visited Kalemegdan with a view of the Sava and Danube rivers, and the temple of St. Sava, which are probably the two most important symbols of Belgrade.
