I have been living here for 5 years and I have never had any negative experiences. I believe it is quite safe. The only thing that comes to my mind would be Friday and Saturday nights in the city center when there can be a lot of drunk people who could say something unpleasant.

It's pretty safe, even at night. I wouldn't recommend going alone at night, but the worse that happened to me was someone honking while I was crossing the road. Some guys could stop you to ask for an instagram handle or number, but honestly, that's pretty rare, only at crowded areas at night.
