San Miguel was one of my favorite places in Mexico. I did not find it more expensive than Oaxaca, or CDMX. The market in San Miguel was one of my favorites.
Posted: April 12, 2023San Miguel de Allende is way overhyped. There are many pueblos mágicos in Mexico with even grander churches, better food, culture, and artesanías. I don’t think it’s that amazing compared to other places I’ve been in Mexico. I was highly disappointed when I went to San Miguel after all the reviews and publicity. It’s beautiful but not any more beautiful than other pueblos. The city of Guanajuato in my opinion has so much more to offer and is way more impressive in terms of architecture, history, and gastronomy.
