Is Szekszárd good for solo travel?

Safety:

Safety:Very safe

Szekszárd, like most cities in Hungary, is generally considered safe for solo female travelers. Its low crime rate is reassuring for those traveling on their own. However, like any other city, common rules of vigilance should be observed. It is always advised to avoid unlit or deserted areas especially late at night and keep personal belongings secure. The locals are usually friendly and willing to help out if needed. Public transportation is also considered reliable and safe.
Transport:

Transport:Easy

Szekszard is quite easy to navigate, even for solo female travelers. The town is small so many attractions can be reached on foot. Where needed, local buses are accessible and reliable. It’s relatively safe, but as with every travel experience, it’s crucial to stay cautious and aware. The local people are generally friendly and helpful. However, English is not widely spoken so it may be useful to learn a few phrases in Hungarian or carry a translation app.
Things to do:

Things to do:Moderate

Szekszárd is a town of quality wines and beautiful landscapes. It's most famous for its age-old tradition of winemaking, with many wineries around the town allowing for tours and tastings. There are also beautiful hiking routes for nature lovers. With a picturesque old town to explore and local Hungarian cuisine to try, travelers rarely run out of things to do. However, Szekszárd is a small town and while it posseses unique charm, it can't compete with the variety of attractions and activities offered by larger, more tourist-oriented cities.
Food:

Food:Above average

Szekszárd offers an excellent range of traditional Hungarian cuisines that will delight any food lover. The rich flavors and hearty portions make the local dishes stand out. One can enjoy a variety of soups, stews, and meat dishes, but it might lack in seafood and other international cuisines. The food is prepared using locally sourced seasonal ingredients and paired with the renowned Szekszárdi wines. However, vegetarians and those following specific dietary restrictions might find their options limited.
Budget:

Budget:Affordable

Szekszárd is rather affordable for travelers on a budget. Accommodation and dining options range from inexpensive to moderate. Public transportation is affordable and reliable, and there is also a variety of free and low-cost attractions and activities to enjoy, like hiking in the local nature or exploring the vineyards. The city offers good value for money, making it a budget-friendly destination.

I can take a walk alone at nights. It's a very small city. Most of the time I don't need to use the public transport as everything is quite close. Majority of the population is over 50. The town is extremely quite and calm.
