I think Batumi more enjoyable than Tbilisi. You can ride a bike by the sea in Batumi. You can wander randomly on the streets of Tbilisi, there are places to see on almost every street. Both cities are worth seeing.

I visited Tbilisi and Kutaisi in December. Tbilisi has a beautiful city center, though areas outside the center are less charming. Kutaisi is small, quiet, doesn’t have many souvenir shops, but the food is really delicious. It was cold, and it even snowed some days, so we had to adjust our plans. There are amazing activities outside the cities, you can rent a car or join a tour to explore gorges, mountains (Caucasus), and lakes that are worth visiting. Prices are very low, with hostels under €10 per night. The best time to visit is probably spring.

in my experience tbilisi is one of the most comfortable and safe places i’ve visited everything was perfect at night and day time. i felt safe coming home late by myself. man are quiet open to show attention towards you, but if you set your boundaries straight they quickly get you

Georgia has felt super safe as a woman traveling solo, people are very welcoming and happy to help, the cities are busy but not too much, food is incredible everywhere, check out rustic looking restaurants that have the menu only in georgian, they are always worth it!
Posted: October 20, 2025Totally safe on the street, people were so friendly(and also you can see good looking people everywhere!) Food was a little bit salty to me, but you can find nice breads and coffee. And the view was astonishing, be sure to visit Kezbegi and stay for at least 1 night to really feel the mountains. I am keen to mountain so it looks like a paradise for me. Would definitely go back sometime.

After travelling to Europe I find Tbilisi VERY safe(I’m sorry to say that, but I was worried about my stuff all the time, even though I didn’t have anything but a small backpack). You can walk freely here and never worry that smth will be stolen(unless you just leave it in a vibrant area and leave for a long time)!
Posted: February 5, 2026Tbilisi is great in terms of safety - I lost iPhone once and people reached to me, nothing ever was stolen and I was never offended here, even tho I’m Russian. I also go home very late and never had problems
Posted: January 14, 2026Most of the time it's quite safe area. I easily could walk back home alone at 3-6 am in the summer and be more scared of dogs not men. But sometimes I heard about different stories of abuse by men towards women. Especially catcalling and dirty flirt in the middle of the day. So it's better to stick with women.

We were in tbilisi with my four girlfriends. We got catcalled often and got stared a lot by men. In day light or at midnight, it was so frasturating to walk around. The city is not that expensive but it is not cheap too. The food around touristic areas are not good.
Posted: October 29, 2025Tbilisi nowadays is less safe for locals due to ongoing political turmoil, however for visitors, I would say it is in general safe to move around in certain hours and places, it is still recommended to not travel all alone in different cities and maybe try to make local friends to avoid getting scammed at different places.

Hello ladies!💜💅🏼 I’m Izolda, a 26 y.o. girl from Tbilisi, crazy about languages, travelling and meeting ppl around the world! I’m an English tutor, but I also teach Russian from time to time and study French. I’m originally from Abkhazia, a tiny country on the Black Sea coast, located between Georgia and Russia. I will be happy to tell you more about this county and language, which is so unique! I’m married, I love with my husband and a cat, we also foster cats when we’re able to, and help them find home🥰 New here, though I’ve been using couchsurfing for more than 8 years now! You can check my profile there!(but idk if I can add a link here or I’ll be blocked for this)🙈
