Is Batumi Safe for Solo Female Travelers?

Batumi generally portrays a strong sense of safety for solo female travelers. The locals are friendly, and instances of crime are relatively low. As always though, it’s essential to maintain normal precautions. Avoid wandering alone at night in deserted or poorly lit areas and always keep your belongings secure. Public transportation is reliable, but taxis are also an affordable option. However, do consider that language can be a challenge as not everyone speaks fluent English.

I did not come across any crime here. We went for the Christmas holiday. It was very nice and fun. The people are friendly, they are just a little weak in the language. If you know Russian and Georgian, you can communicate very easily, but many shopkeepers do not know English, but they are still eager to communicate with body language. And don't forget that the Starbucks here is not the real Starbucks.

Solo travel

Batumi has a different architecture. I was a grandma while traveling. It was also a cheap city. I traveled with a budget of 30 dollars and it was enough. We went from Turkey with our own vehicle. It was a safe city

Family travel

It was a 2-week trip to Batumi, Georgia. We went there on a car from Moscow. One of the most memorable places is definitely national park of Batumi. We saw a waterfall and just amazing Mountain Views… Also in Batumi there’s an airport located just near the beach, so we stayed at the beach to watch planes fly over our heads. So exciting. The city is so beautiful and have different sides of it-old and modern. Both amazing

I felt very safe visiting Batumi. Georgians respect women and even walking alone at night on the promenade, I felt very safe overall. Beautiful city that you should discover at night - go see the dancing fountains at night just sit there, listen to amazing music and enjoy. We were staying in a hotel in Gonio beach. Most beautiful beach in Batumi. The city centre beach is rather dirty but Gonio is clean. Would not reccomend going swimming with huge waves - it is hard to get out of water so be careful.

Well walking alone at night was actually safer than I thought. Every one is minding their own business, so i did too. In Need of help? Ask a stranger and he will be happy to help. Doesn’t matter if it is day or night time.

It’s quite safe and peaceful city but I’m still not willing to walk alone at night in some areas. Like the centre and embankment are safe but the further away from the centre the more tense atmosphere
