Safety:

Safety:Very safe

Ottignies-Louvain-la-Neuve generally holds a reputation as a safe, friendly, and welcoming city for travelers of all kinds, including solo female travelers. It's indeed a university city, which means it's bustling with activities, and it's easy to find help if needed. There would always be people around. However, as with any location, it's essential to exercise everyday caution, particularly during night hours or when in secluded areas.

In the city center, nearly everything is within walking distance. Surrounding areas may require a short bike ride or a local bus trip. You might need some time to adapt to the local language though. Overall, an easy city to explore and enjoy!
Things to do:

Things to do:Moderate

Ottignies-Louvain-la-Neuve offers a pleasant mix of natural beauty and cultural experiences. You can explore the verdant Parc de la Source or indulge in shopping at Esplanade. The Hergé Museum is a fascinating attraction for comic lovers. Food:

Food:Above average

While not considered a global culinary hub, Ottignies-Louvain-la-Neuve still provides a delightful gastronomic experience with a good variety of local and international cuisine. The Belgian delicacies, particularly the chocolates and waffles, are absolutely delightful. The variety and quality are mostly fine, but the occasional lack of international food varieties and restaurant options slightly affects the overall score.

It is a student town made for students: it seems fairly safe because students are walking at every hour of the week. Although sexual harassment does exist everywhere, as a student partying (this city is known for its drunk students as well!), I never personally feel threatened as people are educated and aware on the matter.
