Is Yerevan Safe for Solo Female Travelers?

Yerevan, the capital of Armenia, is generally safe for solo female travelers. The local people are known for their hospitality, and violent crimes are rare. However, like in any urban place globally, standard precautions should be adhered to. That includes avoiding less populated areas during night hours and being aware of your personal belongings at all times to prevent instances of petty thefts.

The most lovely city with kindest people. Forever in my heart and memory. Must visit Lumen coffee shop, National Art Museum, Cascade and many spots around. If you visit in June, join Wine Days Festival

It was my solo trip my homeland after a long break. Yerevan is a great city to stroll peacefully along its beautiful streets visiting its small but cosy stores now and then. October was still warm and sunny. Autumn and Spring are great seasons to visit the city.

Yerevan is my love now! Barbie city (it’s literally pink) where all the restaurants are daaamn fine (except some fastfood gyros, but it was cheap enough to forgive). I can’t be objective about safety or budget stuff because I was always with my partner (who is the Armenian who arrived to complete the repatriation procedure and let me just rest). But I got something about consumerism here! Lahmajun — must-try dish (contain meat), Cascade, National Gallery, International ethnic bar Calumet,...

Safety: overall safe, no issues, but old men were giving me weird stares constantly Things to do: definitely visit the symphony of stones if you want to go to outside the city, really beautiful there, though the entrance has a fee (as i remember 300 dram), and the place is pretty small. Inside the Yerevan didn’t find many places to visit, though I didn’t came prepared enough (my main goal was to visit Okean Elzy concert), so don’t know what to suggest Food: Tan and Lahmajo in the city center...

Group travel

A 100% perfect trip to the Yerevan, Armenia 🇦🇲. It was group trip, we met 2 weeks before it on the group in telegram for students. We decided to go to the Yerevan because we are W&T participants and visa is our necessity. So we get our visas and spend great time together 🌹🍷

before going there, i read some posts about travel experience in Yerevan on Chinese social media. and they say that eating there can be even more expensive than in tbilisi. they recommend a few buget restaurants and i tried two of them. Fourchette buffet is the better one. i ordered some beans, beetroot and two chicken wings which was recommended by the friendly server. they also have bread and other set meals. mine cost around 1500 which is an affordable price in yerevan.

I LOVED Yerevan/armenia in general! Felt like a blend of European/middle eastern/russian/central Asian cultures. Hotels & airbnb’s were more expensive than I was expecting. The food was delicious. I recommend doing a couple of day trips down south and also up to lake sevan

I was in Yerevan for a week, and I had a great time! It’s a small city, so a week is enough. The people there are very friendly, the food very delicious, and the prices cheap! Would go again, but maybe in the summer :)

Armenia is amazing if you are a girl. Locals are very sweet and respectful, they would never let you carry a heavy bag by yourself and everyone is always willing to show you around or give directions. Taxi is available and affordable and there will always be an empty room at a hotel. The local food is a form of art. And everything is VERY cheap. Overall just an amazing place to visit!!

I was there on business, but I stayed for an additional 3 days. I fell in love with this beautiful city. There was so much to discover, and the people were so welcoming! I felt very safe. The restaurants, accommodation, and transport (apart from the cost of the flight) were good and inexpensive. I hope that one day I can return there!

Armenia is on the 7th place in the world for safety. It's very closed community, people are rarely rude to each other, you can hardly find a drunk person in the street. Everyone are very helpful, involved and hospitality level is quite high.

It's safe in downtown and mostly you can safely walk at night sometimes, it's unsafe during big events but usually it's not really dangerous. Girls still should stay attentive and should go to dark yards

I would say Yerevan is pretty safe, of course like any other city, at night you gotta more cautious but overall for tourists i think its very safe, you can walk around not worrying about pit pockets or getting your phone stolen for sure! At night just make sure ure in crowded well lit streets and thats all! Enjoy your visit in Yerevan💞

Yerevan is actually very safe. Like… you can walk at night, listen to music, and not feel stressed every second. It’s not one of those cities where you constantly check behind you. But it’s not “perfect safe” either. You still need brain 😄 !!!You won’t get randomly attacked on the street Walking in the center at night is okay (Cascade, Northern Avenue, etc.) People are generally warm and ready to help Police are around, especially in central areas !!!!!!!!AVOID!!!!!!!! Don’t trust...

It is a very safe country you can come here for solo travel just don't wear too much open clothes because Armenians like to stare😅. You can use taxi and have a night parties here and none can harm you

You can freely travel in Yerevan at any hour. No one’s gonna bother you, and even anyone does lots of people are gonna protect you. People here care and love and are very welcoming and open. Doesn’t matter if you’re a person of color or if you have a different style.
