Is New Jersey safe for solo female travelers?

New Jersey, in general, is considered moderately safe for solo female travelers. Like any other place, the safety largely depends on the location within the state. Cities like Princeton and Hoboken have good safety records. However, cities such as Camden and Newark have higher crime rates. It is important to always have a level of caution and awareness of your surroundings, stay in well-lit, populated areas, and avoid traveling alone at night in unfamiliar areas. How safe is New Jersey for solo female travelers?

Family travel

Nee Jersey was gorgeous in the summertime. I love that this state has downtown areas, suburbs, beaches, mountains, and lush greenery. You can really customize your experience based on what scenery you’d like to see if you research the city you’re visiting and the surrounding areas.

How safe is New Jersey for women?

Depending on where you go in NJ it varies, but for the most part it is safe. Just steer clear from high crime areas at night such as, Newark, Camden, and Trenton. There are a lot of small quaint towns in NJ that are very safe.

Where I am its really safe, I don't know for everywhere but here I'm pretty confortable even at night. The streets are calm, I see a lot of cops, I'm in a small town so there is less to worried about

I feel safe in my area of New Jersey however I live in the suburbs and that's based on my experience here, I would probably not feel as safe in the cities here and crimes can happen anywhere at anytime unfortunately especially to us women. NYC is the city im closest to and i often go on day trips and feel safe.

About me

Hello, I'm Akshaya. I'm an engineer, recently moved to NJ and I love to read and write books (Stories I mean). I wanted to solo travel but have always been scared of it. I am more indoor than outdoor person. But like to roam around the city and explore food and culture in different places. Beaches over mountains. I like a quiet evening watching sunset while starting at it blankly than hiking my way to the top of the mountains.
