Bozeman is an overall safe community, as it it a small town in Montana. But I would beware of nights on main street as I have heard of some women getting followed or roofied at the bar. But if you are avoiding these places it should be safe. However 2 years ago my car got broken into, next to campus. I would just keep belongings with you at all times, as I don’t think they would rob you directly

Bozeman is very safe. I have lived there most of my life and had very little issues. I have only had one thing stolen out of my car in the last 10 years. I used to leave my car open all the time. I now lock the door but never had an issue again. It's always good to be cautious.

Bozeman is safe and comfortable! Very low crime rate. Public transportation is amazing, safe, and clean- it’s all mostly college-aged kids, and the shuttles will take you just about anywhere. Even up to the highest mountains if you wanted to ski/snowboard. Very walkable city, Bozeman’s main part is fairly small and allows you to walk just about anywhere, from stores to restaurants to activities. Super superrr clean city as well. Literally no trash. Very small town vibes.

I grew up in California where I worked for many years doing seasonal jobs in outdoor education and guiding hiking and backpacking trips. I moved to Montana in 2017 and now work as a nurse in the hospital. I spend most of my free time doing outdoor hobbies and adventuring with my husband. I'm especially into biking these days and hope to spend more time going on bike packing adventures.
