How safe is Manisa?

Safety at night:

Safety at night:Moderate

Manisa, like many other parts of Turkey, can be considered moderately safe for solo female travelers at night. While violent crime is relatively low, occasional pickpocketing and petty theft can occur, often in crowded places or public transportation. It's always recommended to stay vigilant, avoid unlit, deserted areas at night and not to disclose that you are traveling alone. Learn some basic Turkish phrases to ask for help if necessary. Stick to crowded and well-lit places, precisely in touristic places and hotels, where more safety measures are typically in place.
Public transportation:

Public transportation:Safe

Public transportation in Manisa generally offers a secure way of moving around. Buses and taxis are available, frequently used and are generally safe to use even at night. However, it's recommended to stay aware of your surroundings and be careful of your belongings as pickpocketing instances may happen, though these are rare. Using a trusted taxi service is also advised, especially at night.
Street harassment:

Street harassment:Moderate

Street harassment in Manisa appears to be of a moderate extent. While locals are generally polite and helpful, instances of unwanted attention towards solo female travelers do occur. This may be in the form of staring or occasional catcalling. However, dressing modestly and behaving confidently seem to lower these instances. Remember, it's important to communicate your discomfort clearly and firmly if you encounter such behavior. The city is quite safe overall, but it's crucial to stay alert as with any city you visit.
Petty crimes:

Petty crimes:Low

Manisa has a generally low risk of petty crimes like pickpocketing or bag snatching. However, as with any travel destination, it's always crucial to keep an eye on your personal belongings and be aware of your surroundings, especially in crowded public places.
