It’s pretty safe, just make sure not going into dark alleys, backstreets very late at night etc but other than that i don’t think anyone get any trouble Especially if you close to seaside neighbourhoods it’s safer

I bet Karşıyaka maybe the safest place in İzmir and especially Türkiye. I was born and raised in Istanbul and I ran away from there to İzmir. Because İzmir is the most modern city in turkey. From İzmir I can only go abroad. I mean if you ask me if I would leave İzmir for a different city in Türkiye , no I wouldn't at all. The option is moving abroad.
