Nestled in the Marmara Sea, just a short ferry ride from Istanbul’s bustling heart, lies the enchanting archipelago of Adalar, also known as the Prince Islands. This cluster of nine idyllic islands offers a serene escape from the city's frenetic pace, with Büyükada, Heybeliada, Burgazada, and Kınalıada being the most visited. Famous for their lush pine forests, historical monasteries, and beautifully preserved Ottoman-era mansions, the islands are pedestrian-friendly, transporting visitors back in time with horse-drawn carriages and bicycles as the primary modes of transport. I went to Buyukada (you can take a ferry from Istanbul) and it was pretty much there. Even though we didn’t have much time to explore, it was a beautiful island. I would recommend going there if you plan to stay for more than one week in Istanbul.
