Is Port of Spain safe for solo female travelers?

Port of Spain, the capital of Trinidad and Tobago, is a vibrant and culturally rich city. During the daytime, the areas frequented by tourists are relatively safe. However, it's important for solo female travelers to exercise caution and be aware of their surroundings, especially after dark. While violent crime against tourists is not common, petty crimes such as pickpocketing do occur. Sticking to well-lit and populated areas, being mindful of personal belongings, and using trusted transportation sources are recommended for enhancing personal safety.

How safe is Port of Spain for women?

The surrounding areas are relatively safe and friendly but I would recommend going with either a guide or local. The people are welcoming and easy to get along with, but don't walk after dark especially in the town centre or any highly congested areas. Be wary and Have fun!
