How safe is Daejeon?

Safety at night:

Safety at night:Safe

Daejeon is generally considered a safe city, even during the night. South Korea has a relatively low crime rate compared to many Western countries. As a solo female traveler, it's quite safe to stroll around at nighttime, but like anywhere else, it's always a good idea to maintain awareness of your surroundings. The city lights are usually well lit and there are also emergency response systems in place if needed. Though unusual, occasionally there might be areas with less foot traffic that can feel slightly uncomfortable. Practice usual precautions and trust your judgment.
Public transportation:

Public transportation:Very safe

Public transportation in Daejeon is considered to be very safe. The city's public transport system is well-maintained and reliable, offering multiple modes of transport such as buses, taxis, and an efficient metro system. The vehicles are clean and well-lit, providing a feeling of security even at night. Incidences of crime or harassment on public transportation are extremely rare. The locals are respectful and helpful, often willing to assist if you seem lost or need help. Furthermore, technology is highly integrated in the system; for instance, English language announcements are routinely made on buses and subways, making it easy for non-Korean speakers to navigate.
Street harassment:

Street harassment:Low

Daejeon generally boasts of safe streets with respectful locals. An occurrence of street harassment is rare as the society culturally stresses on respect and orderliness. Always remember to be respectful of the customs and traditions to maintain the amiable environment. However, in any part of the world, it is still essential to stay alert and be aware of your surroundings.

It’s very safe to walk around in the evening and early night, there are a lot of international people. Korean people don’t interact with us much unless you already speak Korean or sometimes at the club.
