Street harassment:Moderate
Zamboanga City, being the 6th most populous in the Philippines, experiences a moderate level of street harassment. It's generally safe to walk around during the day, but it's advisable to remain cautious, especially during the nights. Public transportation is reliable and drivers are typically respectful. However, as in any major city, instances of catcalling and minor harassment can still occur. Do keep an eye out for pickpockets in crowded areas. Local people are friendly, but you may encounter those who attempt to take advantage, particularly if they perceive you to be a foreigner. It is always good to be aware of your surroundings and keep your belongings close to you.
