It is very safe but when I booked a hostel I got the worse experience, the place didn’t look like the picture at all. Regarding the streets and sightseeing it was safe, even though the tour picked you up at 3 to 5 am. Restaurants and everything is safe. Just that experienced was bad and please always double check your stay and don’t stay if you don’t feel safe. Rather pay than stay in a low budget place.
