Not much if you are not accompanied by locals, locals know there way around so it’s safe with them. There are a lot of safe neighbourhoods, you just need to know and have knowledge about where you are going

Karachi is well not safe that way, especially for women. You cannot walk outdoors at any time. You need to find people you are comfortable with and feel safe around, mostly other girls/women. If you have a higher budget, hiring or being in safe spaces is easier.

I gave a pretty poor rating to my city but it is not all bad and I would like to elaborate why. The threat varies from area to area and on how you are living your life. I am a 21 year old woman and I go to and from university in an auto alone almost everyday and I feel 100% safe. I always return around 8-9pm which is pretty dark and do not try to cover myself or anything due to any fears. This is because majority of the auto drivers in Karachi have been providing this service for women who are not able to drive their own cars for DECADES and most of them try to make the passengers feel safe. Then, safety also depends on where you are traveling to and what route you are taking. That is something that only an experienced local can guide you about so feel free to ask. Karachi doesn't really have anything worth seeing tbh, but if you want to come for a specific cause then don't worry, it is very liveable and pre-dominantly safe.

Karachi is not safe alone for girls, but if you have a person or in a group, it’s fairly safe. I would recommend travelling in groups of friends, and enjoy DHA and other nearby places. And would love to advise on where to visit.

You have to know the hacks, know to blend into locals in order to be safe - unfortunate but true. Ensure safety of valuables by carrying minimal stuff when roaming around. Best to travel in a group, especially for women.
