There were a lot of things to do and it was easier on the budget — I felt safe but also keep in mind I traveled with a group and also speak the local language. From hiking to shopping to eating, there were always many things to do and I had the best time

Islamabad has several sectors that are safe and pleasant to explore, especially E-9, F-6, F-7, F-8, F-10, and I-8 (particularly their main market areas). These neighbourhoods are great for hanging out and offer a comfortable atmosphere. I’d recommend being a bit more cautious in the G sectors, as they can vary in terms of safety. Many of the other sectors don't offer much in terms of attractions and are best avoided if you're on your own. The city has also recently introduced a decent network of buses, which are safe and convenient to use. However, they tend to get crowded during peak hours.
Posted: April 12, 2025Its safer to live in gated societies. Its safer to travel with people you trust. I dont use public transport or cabs unless I really have to. People are really nice and helpful here but its better to drive yourself or rent a car. Thats what I do and I live in a gated society where I am free to walk at 3 am and no one bothers me but cant say the same about public roads.
