Is Islamabad safe for solo female travelers?

Islamabad is generally considered a safe destination for solo female travelers, with a lower crime rate compared to other large cities in Pakistan. It boasts a relatively safe environment courtesy of increased law enforcement presence and good community values. However, it's significant to note traditional and cultural norms can mean women may have a different experience. Respecting local etiquette is key and dressing conservatively is highly recommended. It is also advisable to avoid walking alone at night in unlit or isolated areas, just as a precautionary measure. As with any large city worldwide, it is important to remain cautious and aware of your surroundings at all times.

Group travel

There were a lot of things to do and it was easier on the budget — I felt safe but also keep in mind I traveled with a group and also speak the local language. From hiking to shopping to eating, there were always many things to do and I had the best time

I have lived in Islamabad for 33 years. I have traveled alone during the day and night and haven't felt unsafe. I try to stick to more populated areas though, and steer clear of lesser populated areas

It's kinda a safe place, but I never travel solo here so I can't say, you can get cabs all the time plus cafes are cool overall pretty good people do travel solo and wander around, I just never did that here

I’ve spent last seven year of my life in the city and I could without a doubt say that this is one of the safest cities for women in Pakistan. I feel safe while walking alone at night and commuting around.
