Is Hamilton Safe for Solo Female Travelers?

Hamilton is a relatively safe travel destination for solo female travelers. It is a mid-sized city with a small town feel and locals are known to be friendly and helpful. It has well-lit and busy streets, even at night, which creates a sense of safety. However, just like travelling to any foreign city, you should always exercise caution and stay vigilant at all times, particularly during night. Use trustworthy transportation options and keep personal items secure to avoid possibilities of petty theft.

Hamilton is a safe wee town an hour south from Auckland in New Zealand. The only thing safety wise I would recommend being cautious after dark - not walking alone, being cautious if you are going out to town because there are a couple weirdos.
