Is Zacatecas safe for solo female travelers?

Zacatecas is relatively safe for solo female travelers. However, always practicing caution is key. This includes avoiding dimly lit and less populated areas at night, and being vigilant about personal belongings at all times. Public transport is usually safe but it's smarter to avoid it late at night. Based on reported crime, Zacatecas in general doesn’t have as much violent crime as some other parts of Mexico, but pick-pocketing and purse snatching do occur, especially in crowded places.
