Is Sapporo safe for solo female travelers?

Sapporo is one of the safest cities for solo female travelers. Crime rate is very low and locals are generally respectful and polite. Public transportation is punctual and reliable, and signage in English is abundant which makes navigation easier. However, travelers should still exercise usual awareness, particularly when out at night. As everywhere else, remain cautious and alert in public places and avoid carrying excessive cash or valuables with you. Always ensure your accommodation is secure.

How safe is Sapporo for solo female travelers?

How safe is Sapporo for women?

In no other city I’ve lived in have I felt so safe I took long night walks alone without a single worry. I have never been harassed or felt in greater danger. The only thing is, in the evening hours when the public transport is packed with people, that there could be potential for sexual harassment, but it never happened to me and during the very busy hours there special trains only for only women and elderly, so you can feel safe

It is extremely safe. Unless you go to cheap clubs, then it becomes quite unsafe so it is better to avoid such places. The most happening place for the nightlight is Susukino but I have walked alone in Susukino after midnight and never felt unsafe.
