Overall, I felt safe but I knew I had to be vety cautious walking around. The people were nice however if you dont know Bulgarian or Russian they tend to be very rude. My bag got stolen with everything in it, there are professional thiefs there. Everything was cheap compared to anywhere in Europe, the food amazing, the alcohol somewhat good, the pubs and bars were amazing tho. There is public transportation and the beaches were very nice.
Posted: June 20, 2024Generally safe. I think it's a good place for solo traveling, especially in July and August. I live in the central area and often walk alone, I feel okay doing it. There are some sketchy-looking entities occasionally, but they are harmless.
Posted: August 26, 2024Main streets are fairly safe but I don't recommend back alleys especially after dark. At summer city is much more crowded which is more safe and since it is a seaside city would recommend going there in summer
