Bulgaria was an interesting country. People didn’t really talk much unless you forced the conversation and everyone was partying basically everyday also it includes drugs and dealers everywhere i felt safe unless you can kinda notice small things and where to go or what to do mostly

It was a very chill solo trip. I stayed in an Airbnb which I could reallly recommend (https://www.airbnb.com.tr/rooms/1675482325278689016?unique_share_id=e82585c8-18d9-48fb-8771-233324fe8af3&viralityEntryPoint=1&s=76) the location was very central and safe. In the night city didn’t feel fully safe specially in the parks but nothing happened and I felt safe in the central parts. I really suggest anyone to attend the free tour Sofia its really great. If you want to eat on budget try hesburger or...

Hi, I was in Varna for three days. There are a lot of tourists, and I would recommend having a translation app on your phone because many people don’t speak English. Also, some locals can come across as a bit rude. The beaches and the food are great, and the prices are affordable. Unfortunately, I felt a bit unsafe when I was outside the tourist areas, and I was catcalled. I would recommend city breaks in Bulgaria. I’ll definitely revisit and also plan to visit Sunny Beach, Plovdiv, Burgas,...
Posted: June 1, 2026Bulgaria is one of my favorite places to be! I loved how cosy the people felt and how warm the food was. I went in winter. It has many Orthodox churches and a Sunday street mall that I really liked. Apart from that, I unfortunately didn't have the opportunity to really see the night life.

General safety: 8.5–9/10 LGBT safety: 5.5–7/10 Immigrant experience: 7–8/10 If you're LGBT or an immigrant, Sofia is generally safe to live in, especially in central neighborhoods and among younger, educated circles. However, it is not as socially accepting as many Western European cities. Most people are unlikely to be openly hostile, but visible expressions of same-sex affection or being part of a highly visible minority may attract unwanted attention more often than in cities like Berlin or...

There are some beggars but they are not agressive or intrusive at all. People walk with their mobiles in their back pockets. Men don't catcalling. I was told just to be careful in discos or bars where men sometimes touch... I'm from Spain and live in Sofia and this city is moooore and mooore safe that Madrid or Barcelona

Varna is beautiful and mostly chill. Best is to enjoy the sea garden and Cubo. I can recommend also my fav healthy place Jiva Priroda. Enjoy the beaches and be careful with your food around seagulls. Always have something in mind arround . A lot of people beg for money don’t pity them.

Sofia is quite safe, I always feel fine walking at night alone as a woman. Of course there are certain areas that could feel a bit shady like close to Lion's bridge but overall very safe even when alone.

I’m a very social and open person who loves meeting new people and creating unforgettable memories. I try to always stay positive and energetic, bringing good vibes wherever I go. I have a deep interest in psychology and geography, as I love understanding both people and the world around me.
