Is Joinville safe for solo female travelers?

Joinville is relatively safe compared to some other cities in Brazil. However, like in any urban setting, it is important to be cautious. It is advisable to avoid walking alone at night, particularly in empty or poorly lit streets, and to always watch your belongings. While the risk of danger is not especially high, encounters such as pickpocketing or street crime can happen. As a solo female traveler, it is recommended to always stay vigilant and observe the same precautions you would in any medium-sized city. Most of the residents are friendly and willing to help tourists. Still, it is always better to secure your safety at all times.

I lived many years here and nothing happen to me. I really feel safe a lot of the time, but I always be careful. Dont walk distracted, and look around you, dont use headphones at the night. Dont talk with homeless or strangers and you will be okay

The city I live in is very safe, I’ve never been robbed or anything. In here we walk with our phones on our hands. I don’t use public transport, only uber or my own car. The neighborhood i live in is very safe and calm.

I usually move around the city center in my bike or walking and I never faced any issues. Compared to bigger cities, I feel that Joinville is pretty safe. I usually come back home from work or class when is already dark and I don't feel unsafe on the streets.
