Is Jataí safe for solo female travelers?

Jataí is generally safe for solo female travelers. Like anyplace, it is important to take precautions, such as avoiding deserted areas especially at night and being vigilant of your surroundings. Most locals are friendly and helpful. However, basic Portuguese knowledge would be beneficial as English may not be widely spoken.
