I feel safe in general as Chester is a really peaceful, chill and lovely city right near Manchester (in an hour train distance)

I definitely recommend some spots to visit as follow:
The Cathedral (sorry for not quoting the full name as I am writing this now without a note by my side, please find my photo helps!) 

The cathedral is a classic example of how the architecture of the traditional cathedral as many first-time visitors may feel surprise and stunning of. 

In terms of of budget, many spots are free for visiting, including the Cathedral.

I just bought some beverage in Tesco there, so I can’t recommend any local restaurants.
