Hello everyone! I’m Fatma. I have been working as a teacher in İstanbul for six years. I love travelling and solo-travel has become kind of a therapy for me over the years:) If you are in İstanbul, I can show you around at weekends and give you some tips as well. You can ask any questions, please don’t be shy. My home is a bit far from the touristic places, but if you need a place to crash you can come over:)

Hi there! I’m Işınsu, a 24-year-old woman from Turkey with a deep passion for travel, culture, and meaningful conversations. I’m currently studying International Relations and have lived in different countries as part of my academic and professional journey. Traveling, to me, is not just about seeing new places—it’s about connecting with people, sharing stories, and discovering the small everyday beauties of different cultures. I enjoy exploring cities on foot, trying local food, watching documentaries, and having spontaneous chats with locals. I also believe in supporting women-led initiatives and staying safe and aware while traveling. If you’re looking for a travel buddy who’s thoughtful, curious, and always up for a new adventure (or just a cozy cafe chat!), feel free to reach out. Let’s explore the world together—one conversation at a time.

I'm a 27 year old student. I'm in my 3rd year of studying Psychology and I guess I would say I'm what you would get if you mixed up a love for people and living things, an insatiable curiosity and skepticism from love of science and discovery, extra sensitiveness, some spirituality and an intuitive compass. I'm also just quite abnormal and intense in all that I feel and I enjoy this way of being. There is very little in life that is a taboo topic in my view but all of my decisions will be based on love, pragmatism and the highest good of all involved. Lastly I am full of flaws and I accept them but also work on them the best way that I possibly can.
Sinem
Hiii My name is Sinem, I'm 20 years old and currently living in Lithuania as an Erasmus student. I’m originally from İzmir, Turkey, and I study Mechanical Engineering. I’ve always loved exploring new countries and learning about different cultures, which is why I enjoy using Couchsurfing — I believe meeting and talking with locals helps me understand a place in a much deeper and more authentic way. Over the past month and a half, I’ve had the chance to travel to Latvia, Sweden, Estonia, and Finland. I’m a curious person who’s always eager to learn new things, and I’d love to share my culture while discovering others’. Friends describe me as polite, respectful, and easy to get along with. I’m really looking forward to making meaningful connections along the way!

Based on 212 experiences
Being an experienced traveler, I avoided Istanbul for a long time because of the image of being too "touristy." I regret that decision a million times because after being it myself, I fell in love. I am obsessed with how it looks, with the people, and the overall atmosphere. It's a highly international place, where you can always find someone to go out with. I came to Istanbul 3 times in total - in May, in June, and in January. I can say for sure that it is not a nice winter destination - or maybe I was unlucky with the weather - but in May in June it is heavenly nice :) My favorite experiences were: - Turkish breakfast at some terrace with seaview (around 15 euro pp) - famous San Sebastian cheesecake near Galata Tower - Turkish bath (25 euro pp) Some experience that I wouldn't do again - dinner Bosphorus cruise. Overpriced, bad food and diluted drinks, interior and show with 90's vibe (not in a good way)
Posted: May 11, 2025Experienced: May, 2023Last weekend, I went on a spontaneous trip in Ankara. I started with a short walk in Kızılay, then sat at Kuğulu Park and watched the surroundings. I walked along Tunalı Hilmi Street and spent some time in cafés. The calm yet lively atmosphere of Ankara felt really good. Especially while walking through Atatürk Boulevard, I could feel the historical texture of the city. Even though it was an unplanned trip, it was a peaceful and enjoyable experience.
