I’m Antonia, originally from Bucharest, currently on a trip through South America for an indefinite period of time! I’m a former athlete, in love with every kind of outdoor activity, and always with a huge zest for life, bad jokes and silliness! Slowly building a nomadic lifestyle, at least for a couple of years. I’ll be doing a mix of traveling and working, which has been my lifelong dream. I’m a coach and I work with people going through burnout. I absolutely love my job and the kind of path I am carving for myself. I would love to meet other travelers along the way and share new experiences together!

I had a good time in Romania. I didn’t always feel very safe because of the many abandoned buildings, even in the center. But I saw a lot of police around. It’s a cheap country, public transport worked well, and even if there weren’t many activities, I still enjoyed a couple of days. I’d recommend it for a low-cost short trip.

Bucharest gets a bad rap online but whilst it's not an amazing destination in itself, it can actually be a really pleasant base for the rest of Romania. There's not a lot of obvious attractions but if you look a little off the beaten path, take day trips out or even explore the more "free range" musuems there's actually plenty to do. The Old Town is cheesy but has some genuinely great nightlife nestled near with some pretty architecture too. My top tips would be to check out the fascinating contrast of Vacaresti national park and take the "ghosts and folklore" walking tour through the city.
