I’m Antonia, originally from Bucharest, currently on a trip through South America for an indefinite period of time! Is Bucharest safe for women?
I'd say it's generally pretty safe objectively. It doesn't always feel the safest, but it's not very common for stuff to happen and I've walked alone at night. Granted, I was scared shitless and often resorted to pretending I was on a call, but that's also my paranoia 😅

Unless you go to a creepy area, which you can tell by it being very dark, houses looking poor pr bad, Bucharest is extremely safe. You just have to be cautious as everywhere else. I’ve walked at night with no problems till now.
