I love this country, very underrated. People are friendly and helpful even if you don't speak the same language. I felt safe commuting through the cities or islands. It's not very expensive if you're good at budgeting (the islands are expensive tho). I meet great people who don't travel just for the popularity of backpacking but for the genuine curiosity and open mindness. A lot of beautiful nature and fun activities to find.
