Is Sintra safe for women?

I don't remember ever seeing any problems in Sintra (city center), but as a woman, I'm obviously never 100% worry-free. With the increase in tourism, which is a problem for the locals, it's obviously very difficult to know who is walking around here, but so far it's been safe.
