Expat Women in Porto

We are a friendly community of international women living in Porto who connect and make friends. We welcome expats, students who study abroad, Erasmus participants, and anyone living far from home.

About me

I'm a very art-oriented person who loves to paint, draw, sometimes tattoo; love to hike, impulsive travelling and camping. I see myself as someone who keeps trying to learn about the most random little things that Life brings to me.

About me

Hi there! I'm Sedona, a 27-year-old adventurer originally from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA, now embracing life in the charming city of Porto, Portugal. My wife and I, both military veterans, met in Ukraine prior to the war and made the exciting move here in February 2025 with our three beloved cats. I have a passion for travel, food, and art, and love discovering new cultures and cuisines. When I'm not exploring Porto's vibrant streets, you'll find me with a book in hand or experimenting with new recipes. Let's share our travel tales and inspire each other to explore the world!

About me

I love getting to know new people and am down to hang out and show people around Porto (though we might end up discovering new places here that I might have never been to _(┐「ε:)_). I’m currently based in Porto as I study here, however I’m neither Portuguese nor was I raised here. I love learning about different countries and cultures and I also love sharing mine (not without consent of course)!! Would’ve loved to also host people but alas the student dorm life is an impediment 😔 Nonetheless, I could show you around Porto and/or accompany you during your time here. I’m super friendly guys, trust 🥹(^ν^)

Is Porto safe for women?

Jill

A very safe town. Lots of English spoken, very little crime outside of pickpocketing and rustling in cars. Safe for women, generally, there are lots of women out walking between bars and restaurants, even late at night (until midnight typically, later in the summer months).

Porto is a very safe destination I would recommend it for any traveller but I would be weary at night as the atmosphere does change. I would definitely recommend going to Porto to solo travellers. It is very easy to get around
