About me

Hi guys !😊 I am a Belgian solo traveller staying for 4 months in Australia to visit the East Coast. If you are available, I would love meet up to exchange travel stories and learn from one another. If we happen to be at the same place at the same time I would also love to meet a travelbuddy to visit National Parks like Daintree, Great Sandy, Whitsunday Islands or other fun suggestions. I would also love to find a host if possible and get to know what life is like as a local. Basically, I want to meet sisters from all over the world during my trip. I'm pretty outdoorsy, I love sightseeing and hiking. I am also passionnate about food and cooking. I would love to cook and share some of my favorite recipes with my host to show my gratitude.

Is Brussels safe for women?

Brussels is quite safe for women solo travellers, best stay in southern districts (Ixelles, St Gilles, Uccle, most of the Center and Forest ) and avoid the areas outside of the train stations Brussels Midi and Brussels North. I have been living here for over 15 years, often moving around solo. After 23h some areas and public transport can get quite sketchy / unpleasant, but not really dangerous.

In general the city centre (Brussels-central) is quit safe. Outside are beggars but they aren't harmful. Whenever I go out with friends I usually have to take the train back home around 22:00 and it's never been an issue. (I've studied and worked here). Another safe neighbourhood is Ixelles-Etterbeek with nice food spots and café's (a neighbourhood for students/families). I would avoid taking the tram outside at Brussels-midi station and also avoid Rue Brabant at Brussels-North. Keep an eye on your belongings and also if you're gut feeling says this person isn't good trust it and stay away! (Unfortunately bad people are everywhere).
