Hi hi! My name is Roos (Rose in English or French, Rosa in Spanish, ... you choose ☺️🌹) I'm from Leuven, Belgium, and ever since I was a kid, I felt like I wanted to explore the world, see unknown places and meet people from different cultures. ✨🌎 3 years ago I did my first big solo trip; I went volunteering in Norway for 7 months. I felt a spark that I wanted to keep traveling and living an adventurous nomadic lifestyle. ✨ I am a slow traveller, I like to immerse myself in the culture and language of a place and learn from local people about traditions and the way of life. About a year ago, fate took me on an unexpected journey to the sun (I've always been in more northern places so far) and I discovered the island of Gran Canaria. ☀️🏝️ I completely fell in love with this place. My childhood dream was to one day live close by the sea, and I felt like it came true when I discovered this island... 💛💙 Right now I am back in Belgium for a while, but I am trying to plan to go back to the Canaries for a longer time and discover the other islands too. I am thinking about different options to make it work (volunteering, jobs, ...) and any help/tips for that are welcome, but of course just making a friend would already mean so much to me. 💛 One day my dream is to discover even further places and go across the Atlantic Ocean to the Caribbean and South America, but at the moment, I feel like the Canaries could be my home. Right now I am trying to learn Spanish, so I would love to speak more Spanish and I can teach you some Dutch if you want :) I love music and I play some myself 🎹🎸🎤🎶 I love going to live events and discovering new music. Or making music or singing together, even though I am a little bit shy. 😉 I also love being out in nature. I like hiking and camping (I've only been camping a few times, but I really like the adventure and sleeping under the stars) ⛰️🏕️🌠 As I mentioned before, the sea has always been a fascination of mine. I didn't grow up near the sea, but every year our family went to the coast in France and I saw the fishing boats and went to the beach and looked at the horizon and I wondered what was out there... 🌊✨ I am still new to the 'sea activities' like snorkeling, scuba diving, surfing,... But I'm really interested to discover more about sea life and island life. 🐚🐟🧜♀️🏄♀️ I have been kayaking and canoeing on some calm rivers here in Belgium, and I really like it, and would like to try it at sea too. 🛶 I also really want to try to go on a jet ski and feel the adrenaline going fast. 🤩 And one day I want to learn to sail... ⛵ I like to do things that push me past my fears and teach me to go out of my comfort zone! And of course, because I'm from Belgium, I also love doing things by bike, and I'd like to discover more mountain biking. 🚴♀️ It's really different from biking on the streets here in Belgium, but it seems like a cool adventure! I like having spiritual/philosophical conversations and I'm also interested in discovering more about meditation and yoga. I have always felt a spiritual connection with the nature around me and the universe, and the past years I feel more and more interested in discovering different healing paths and listening to the language of the universe. ✨

Is Leuven safe for women?
since its a little student city so ive not heard or encountered any disrupt within Leuven? Maybe i have heard that at night there are a few times girls walking down the street getting catcalled by old people but that only happened once as far as i know. Overall, Leuven is by far the safest city i know in Belgium.
Posted: November 18, 2025For me living in Leuven feels safe. I grew up there and I have never feit really unsafe. Only when you go out at night you need to be aware that there are men and women out there with the wrong intentions. Always be carefull
