Expat Women in Australia

We are a friendly community of international women living in Australia who connect and make friends. We welcome expats, students who study abroad, and anyone living far from home.

About me

Hi! I’m the kind of person who loves dancing, traveling, spontaneous decisions, and learning new languages. I’m never afraid of adventures or challenges- honestly, a little adrenaline makes life more fun. Sometimes I just need a tiny push to leave the house, but once I’m out… well, no one really knows when I’ll be back! 😉

About me

Hi lovely humans, my name is Alice but I go by Ali. I am solo traveling overseas for the first time this year and am super keen to make some friends on the way! I am very open minded, down to earth, bubbly and love some banter. I’m down for getting our steps up, eating too much, partying hard, relaxing as we deserve, and everything between!

About me

I'm working as a teacher aide this year as a gap year after graduating high school 2024 and am also traveling as much as I can around Australia this year! So far this year I've been to Perth, Brisbane, Cairns, Darwin, Adelaide and Townsville. I'm also hoping to soon visit Bali, Sydney and Hobart.

About me

I'm a Colombian living in Australia. I love practicing yoga, outdoors and creating community and any chill plan. But I'm also a great companion to have fun and maybe some drinks and dancing. I'm also a cat and plant lover girl, mum of 2 lovely feline boys. Basically any plan I'm in and ready to go! 😀

About me

Hey girls! 💜 I’m Lea, 23, currently living on the Sunshine Coast. Originally from Switzerland, I came here as an exchange student and fell in love with the Aussie lifestyle. I’m always up for an adventure – whether it’s a beach day, a hike, or a cute café stop. Big fan of all things active, and I’m on a mission to finally learn how to surf (slowly but surely!). I’d love to meet new people and do fun things together! 🙌🏽😊

About me

Hi, I'm a social introvert who loves travelling & connecting with people. I'm unable to host, unfortunately, as I'm travelling long-term & don't have a home. If I'm lucky enough to get hosted, I assure you that I'm very tidy and considerate. I've already had the pleasure of meeting & making friends with a couple of lovely ladies off this site, & hope to meet many more.😊

About me

I'm a passionate, creative, friendly, and warm person who loves travelling, photography, learning, languages, and chatting with random cats in the street. I love to study, discover the world, eat and cook amazing vegan food, have adventures, explore abandoned places, make crafts, do genealogy, and be inspired. I'm driven by social justice; a lover of deep conversations over small talk; and a happily married introvert who is not a fan of partying, bars, clubs, drinking, etc. Cosy comfort always wins for me! I'm also an animal adorer, and love all dogs and cats like they are my own :-) I travel as much as I can, usually between November and March each year. My trip this year will be to the Philippines, Jordan, Tunisia, Senegal, Gambia, and Portugal. My favourite thing about travel connection apps is meeting kindred spirits and connecting with people from all over the world. One of my closest friends is from Couchsurfing, so communities like this hold a very special place in my heart. I've spent the last few years learning Spanish, which is my third language—and my first as an adult learner!—so am currently very excited about the power of languages to build connections. I hope to learn at least two more in my lifetime. I particularly love languages that are spoken in many countries, as they allow connections across the world.

Is Australia safe for women?

Gold Coast

Everyone here is super friendly and wants you to have a good time. As backpackers, you meet locals who offer their help and want to have a nice chat. Overall, our experiences so far have been entirely positive, and we feel very safe here.
