How safe is Phoenix for women?

I overall feel pretty safe here in Phoenix. But like any place I live or visit, as a woman I am always aware and attuned to my intuition and surroundings. Since I live in the city, I do my due diligence but locking up my house and cars doors. Most of the crimes in my location are petty crimes like theft, package theft, mail theft, break ins. I also do not walk around by myself in the dark, I would rather take a car. Not well versed in public transportation here, because it’s not widely used. Most everyone has a car to get around. I find it hard to navigate in this city without a vehicle.

Safe in some parts such as Chandler where I currently live, but kinda sketchy in Tempe. Phoenix is full of wonderful people and lots to do up here! Just make sure at night to always have a buddy, and a plan.

Phoenix is mostly safe, but there are definitely areas to stay away from and you need to be aware if walking at night. Especially if you’re in an area that’s secluded, or where men may be drinking or having fun with other guys.

Phoenix is mostly safe but precautions should be taken when walking downtown late at night. As long as you stay aware of your surroundings you will be fine. Make sure to stay along the main roads near traffic and street lamps.

As you get further from downtown and further from Old Town Scottsdale the safer you are in my opinion. Lots of homelessness around downtown and midtown. As well as since old town is a touristy place, it’s attractive to people asking for money or hanging out around the shops. I’ve had one instance where I did not feel safe during the day but many people were around so I just ran off.
