The most dangerous things in Kyiv are russian missiles and drones. Every other aspect is pretty safe. I feel really safe in Kyiv during the day or evening, and at night we have curfew, so you aren't supposed to be outside.

Considering political situation it is not that safe as was, but in the capital city it is moderately safe. As for crime level it is low. Even nowadays there is a lot of foreign tourists and Ukrainians are always happy to help with almost any issue.

During the war there are some problems with safety. But in general as I live in city centre I feel comfortable and safe enough. We have shelters in case air alert and you can stay in the underground.

It's not the safest place in the world, okay? We have war now and etc. You can have not wanted attention from mens, but they really not often even touch you, but you always can feel the stare. I never been robbed here or assaulted. You just need to have your stuff with you
Posted: April 13, 2025Overall, i find Kyiv to be a pretty safe city for tourists. Yet, it‘s better to stay in districts close to the centre. I would say that the crime level is no bigger than average. Older people sometimes can be homophobic or not welcoming. Nevertheless, it’s not very common.

Kyiv is a big city, so it depends on a district. I live and study in central part, where safety is hight. The part of Kyiv which is on the left bank of Dnipro river is more unsafe, up to robbery etc. Also some distant districts are unsafe. We sadly have some homeless and drunk people around, which can also make some places unsafe. Public transport is well-organized and safe. On most of streets there are lights at night. Well, now, when it's war, it's all a bit different. People are more organized, not going outside at night. Anyhow, being a typical person from central part of Kyiv, I don't often worry about not being safe.
Posted: April 5, 2025Sometimes some men may look at you strangely or make nasty jokes, but it is very rare that you will get hurt. There is also a low level of theft here, even if you forget something and come back for it, there is a high chance that the thing will be in the same place. If you are just traveling for a short time, there is a high chance that the trip will go well.
Posted: March 3, 2025its safe, because people not angry there but RIGHT NOW it’s dangerous because Kyiv every day has drones/missiles attacks Kyiv is being bombed sometimes. Still we have good defending weapon, but be ready to hear explosions

I mean, it's a city in a war country. But comparing to other cities in Ukraine it's definitely not the worst regarding safety at the moment. I've never been robbed, but I do get harassed from time to time. Nothing bad happened tho.
Posted: February 18, 2025Kyiv is quite a safe place, despite many westerners thinking it is not safe because of political situation in the country. You can safely stay in hotels that have shelters and if you are visiting your friends especially there should be no worries. Ukrainians are very kind and friendly, and if they agree to host you, you’ll feel like a Queen. Public transport is accessible and you can use taxi if you have anxiety, that is quite cheap. Food is amazing, I’d argue we have the best food in Europe, and that I mean by safety and quality standards.

Heyo👋 I'm a small part of universe that would like to see the world before transform into a star dust again. I'm cheerful and open-minded. Really love and care about nature and animals. Not really like big company, but appreciate face-to-face communication. It will be interesting to meet new great people in a different country, different city and places. Hearing their mother language and learning their traditions. I would be very happy if you invited me to your place❤️
